Dr. Maria Katsarou-Makin, a Chartered Psychologist and HCPC Registered professional, brings over two decades of experience in organizational development consulting. Based in the UK, she founded The Leadership Psychology Institute and has a distinguished history of collaborating with senior leaders, including middle managers, management teams, boards, and CEOs, across numerous multinational corporations. Dr. Katsarou-Makin excels at developing tailored organizational strategies designed to address contemporary business demands in leadership, change management, and enhancing individual and team effectiveness. Her approach involves designing bespoke leadership programs, facilitating group dynamics workshops, and providing executive coaching. Her personal journey, navigating a multicultural upbringing and a 13-year corporate career with companies such as SCA Hygiene, Johnson & Johnson, Henkel-Ecolab, and Diageo, provides her with a uniquely practical, grounded, and incisive perspective on organizational dynamics. Her accomplishments include successfully spearheading various HR initiatives, acting as a change catalyst for organizational transformations, and leading multicultural leadership development programs in diverse regions including Greece, Germany, South Africa, Eastern Europe, and Turkey. Her academic credentials include a BA in Management and Organizational Behaviour, an MA in Human Resources Management, and an MSc in Psychology. She further specialized in leadership team dynamics and the measurement of trust through her Doctorate in Leadership Psychology from William James College (formerly Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology) in Boston. Dr. Katsarou-Makin holds a Henley Certificate in Coaching, is listed on the Henley Register of Coaches, and is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited Professional Certified Coach (PCC). Additionally, she is accredited by The Kantor Institute and certified in numerous psychometric assessments, including MBTI and FIRO-B, by the British Psychological Society. Since 2002, she has also been an educator, serving as a tutor for Management courses at The American College of Greece and other institutions, while also delivering executive training and workshops.
