Mika Becker Laurent is a Gestalt therapist with prior experience as a producer and project manager in the cultural sector. Her professional background includes extensive work with creative processes and personal expression. She is particularly drawn to and invested in exploring themes such as challenging relationships, existential confusion, emotional turmoil, the creative process, intense emotions, sexuality, fears, boundaries, faith, doubt, and trust issues. Mika has experience supporting individuals who have experienced sexual abuse and has also worked in acute psychiatric settings for several years. Her qualifications include training as a supervisor from Ersta Sköndal University College, couples therapy certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which is grounded in attachment theory, and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) certification for trauma treatment, based on nervous system regulation. Mika holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Sciences with a specialization in Sexology. She completed her Gestalt therapy training at the Gestalt Institute of Scandinavia (GIS) in Denmark and is affiliated with the European Association for Gestalt Therapy (EAGT). She is also an authorized Gestalt therapist through the Swedish Association of Authorized Gestalt Therapists (SAG). Mika has also pursued studies in art, journalism, practical philosophy, religious studies, conflict management, group dynamics, trauma, and sexology.
